Based in Akron (Barberton), Ohio, this Thermal Spray Operator role at Hannecard offers an opportunity to work in a professional and quality-driven environment.Thermal spray is a process that applies a coating to a surface by projecting fine particles in a molten or semi-molten state at high velocity.

We apply more than 100 different thermal sprayed materials, including metals, alloys, carbides and ceramics. Our thermal coatings do not only repair damaged components but also prevent wear, thus minimizing downtime and reducing maintenance interruptions.

Main responsibilities:

  • Operates thermal spray equipment to ensure excellent quality and efficient production.
  • Operate and maintain lathe and blasting equipment. Monitors equipment to ensure proper functionality and performs minor repairs when necessary.
  • Conducts quality control analysis, ensuring adherence to Hannecard’s quality manual, company procedures, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production and compliance with specifications.
  • Plans the proper sequence of tasks to complete assignments efficiently.
  • Sets up porduction jobs into fixtures and/or machines including masking of production pieces.
  • Monitors production, making necessary adjustments to feeds, speeds and other machine settings.
  • Maintains inventory of completed products and ensures proper documentation.
  • Identifies and addresses defects, documenting or discarding non-compliant products.
  • Maintains a safe, orderly, and clean workstation in compliance with company safety protocols.
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

     

Profile:

Education:

  • Vocational training or apprenticeship preferred.

Experience:

  • Mechanical aptitude with experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly.
  • Working knowledge of safety protocols.
  • Welding experience preferred but not required.
  • Thermal spray experience preferred but not required.
